Choose To Obey God

Our memory verse says:

"Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Luke 11:28

When your mom tells you not to touch the hot stove, is she trying to keep you from having fun? Nope, she's trying to keep you safe! That hot stove will burn you. It does you good to listen to her! If you choose to obey you're choosing not to get burned. If you don't obey you're choosing to get hurt!

It's the same thing with God when we choose to obey him we're choosing to get blessed and when we choose to disobey God we're choosing to do something that hurts us. He's not trying to keep you from anything good, or keep you from having fun. God wants you to be healthy, and to love others.

Jonah didn't choose to obey God because he thought what God wanted was wrong! Isn't that crazy he straight up ran from God! What will you do?
