New Year,   New Ground.

Welcome to day six of our 14 days of prayer and fasting devotional series!

Each day of this series we will dive into a Spirit-led word from one of our amazing Angelus Temple and Dream Center Ministry Leaders and Directors! We encourage you to prayerfully join us as we humbly examine where our God is leading us in this new season, as well as the new thing He has already begun in our midst.

Today, we will be hearing from our Children's Pastor, Kenny Hultquist, about how praying and seeking God keeps our spiritual tanks full and running strong!

Day 6: It's Time To Fuel Up

by Kenny Hultquist

Prayer and Fasting is a time to fuel up.

I remember reading a story about something that happened on New Year’s Day. It was about the Tournament of Roses Parade, and it was a big extravaganza, with dignitaries, horses, clowns, and beautiful floats. Suddenly one of those beautiful floats started to sputter and quit. It just ran out of gas. The whole parade, the marching bands, and the other floats were all held up until someone could come and put gas into the float.

The amusing thing was that this particular float, representing the standard oil company with its vast oil resources, was out of gas. Often times, Christians can neglect their prayer life and spiritual maintenance, and that’s when we can find ourselves on empty and out of gas. As believers we need to remember to fill up. “So, we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and He heard our prayer.” - Ezra 8:23

Let us all take this time to fast, to pray, and seek God, to be refueled. When we do this, we find ourselves relying on God more fully for His strength and it helps us to hear from Him more clearly as well as gives us the strength, and gas, we will need for 2024. God wants us to stop and fuel up. It’s time to find the true Gas Station and not one called Arco, Chevron, or Mobile. It’s called an Altar, a place where God’s presence is found. A place where you can fuel you up with His power, His anointing, a place where you can seek God for a New Beginning, a New Era, and believe God for more in 2024.

Prayer: “Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.” – Psalm 25:5 Thank you Lord that our hope is found in you! We praise you for calling us to yourself by your great kindness and meeting us and filling us up with your abundant life! Amen
