Day 10: Trusting God's Promises
by Tatiana Galvez
I can honestly say that one of the hardest things to learn in life, is to trust. When we trust, we rely on another’s character, ability, strength, and honesty. Trusting requires only one thing-to stand still and do nothing but wait on the one in whom we’ve placed our confidence in to act. It is so simple and yet so hard, especially where there has been hurt and mistrust in our past, to wait and allow the person we have trusted in to show up for us and do what they have said they will do.
When we are facing battles and we know that we don’t have the power to do everything that is needed to win them, the only thing we can do is to trust and wait for the One who DOES have the strength to step in. The bible is filled with so many of God’s promises, but each time He doesn’t seem to be moving as quickly as I would like in my circumstances, I find myself letting the negative thoughts take over and start trying to take matters into my own hands.
Right now, you might be in a season of sickness, fear, discomfort, self-loathing, or hopelessness, but I implore you to read and be encouraged by Isaiah 12:2 (NLT), “See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me to trust in your direction, and help me to have confidence in your wisdom and guidance for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
